Bubbles at Ritz

We did the Singapore champagne brunch yesterday, and yes we where very happy!

We where served a free flow of Moet champagne, and I think its fair to say that we got value for money. Even though we kept toasting and toasting, the glasses where never empty.

And then there where food. Of course they had a big seafood section, which of course was yammy. However, I missed the caviar, the crab and lobster-claws. So when it comes to seafood, Shanghais brunches are better.

But instead there where cheese. So much cheese! So good cheese! I don’t think I’ve ever seen a cheese selection of its kind before. There where so many cheeses to chose from. Each and every one I tasted was divine. Its almost worth going to the brunch at Ritz Carlton for the cheese only!

Desserts just cant go wrong! But honestly, I had so much cheese that I almost did not have any room left for sweets.

The part however, as always, was the company. At every champagne brunch I ever been to, there has been at least one loud, tipsy (well lets be honest a bit more than tipsy) table with very happy people. Yesterday we where at that table :-).

Well, yesterday I wrote about Shanghai´s many champagne brunches and that I thought that the Singapore once wouldn’t live up to the same standard. I was wrong. Now I can tell you that Singapore’s champagne brunches is just as good as the Shanghai´s! I did miss a few things, like caviar and opera. But I got top end quality food (especially the cheese), and very good service. In fact, they were so good at filling up the glasses that I ended up… a bit blurry :-). Honestly, I don’t know the last time that happened. I even woke up this morning thinking “what did I say yesterday” (I always say a lot when I have a few extra drinks…).

I think I found a winning concept, as a parent with small kids. Do your bubble-drinking in the middle of the day! That way you don’t have to worry about only getting a few hours a sleep before you have to go up again. Instead you can have as much bubbles as you like, having fun with your friends and still be able to go to bed a 9 pm (yep, that was exactly what we did).

And, we went to the brunch at Ritz Carlton. With services charge and taxes included it was 202 SGD per person. And according to me, value for money!

Hi, your English is pretty atrocious - consider google translating or doing a spell check before posting? And a grammar check?

  2. Thank you for your suggestion :-). This however will never be a blog of perfect grammar or spelling. Not in English, nor in Swedish.
